Gestational pemphigoid is an infrequent blistering disease characterized by an intensely pruritic urticarial rash in the trunk and limbs. It appears at the end of pregnancy and after childbirth. The disease evolves rapidly to a vesiculobullous dermatosis of the pemphigoid blistering type, given their many clinical, histological and immunopathological similarities. A case is presented of a 32-year-old pregnant woman with personal pathological antecedents. At 32 weeks of gestation the patient presented at Dermatology consultation of her health area with infiltrated erythematous lesions of three days' evolution located on her abdomen and limbs, crowned by some vesicles in the center of the plaque and accompanied by intense itch. Clinical examination and the histopathological study confirmed the diagnosis of gestational pemphigoid. The patient received treatment according to the established protocol and evident clinical improvement was achieved. It is important that health professionals and primary health care doctors always consider this disease during examination of a pregnant patient with this clinical state, due to the similarity to other pregnancy dermatoses. In this case, correct diagnosis led to appropriate medical treatment and follow-up.
