Abstract

Eosinophilic fasciitis is a rare connective tissue disease that affects both sexes equally, at ages between 40 and 50 years. A 40-year-old female patient is presented, of phototype IV, with a pathologic history of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, who attended a specialized dermatology consultation at Hospital Docente Enrique Cabrera, with sclerotic lesions located on both upper and lower limbs, accompanied by myalgias and functional limitation. Complementary examinations, as well as skin and muscle biopsy, were performed. Eosinophilic fasciitis was concluded. The case is presented because of the infrequency of this diagnosis, as well as the importance of a timely diagnosis and treatment to avoid muscle fibrosis and maintain the patient's mobility.
