Introduction: From a dermatological point of view, like the rest of the skin, the vulva of girls and adolescents can be affected by multiple diseases of different etiologies.
Objective: Characterize benign dermatoses of the vulva in pediatric patients.
Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was carried out in pediatric patients with benign dermatosis of the vulva, treated at Havana pediatric hospital Borrás Marfan between 2003 and 2022. The sample was made up of 30 cases.
Results: 30% were less than one year old and between 6-9 years old. 76.7% had white skin color. 53.3% presented papule as a primary elemental lesion and 20.0% presented scales as a secondary elemental lesion. The most frequent etiological diagnosis was infectious dermatoses in 60% of the patients. 30% of nosological diagnoses were due to scabies, followed by benign tumors in 16.6% of cases.
Conclusions: Girls under one year of age predominated. Scabies and melanocytic nevi were the most frequent nosological diagnoses.
