Authors

Abstract

Condylomas, also known as genital warts, are benign lesions caused by human
papillomavirus infection. It is currently considered one of the most common
sexually transmitted diseases. This type of virus is spread by skin-to-skin contact
and by oral, anal or genital sexual relations with a partner infected by the virus. A
19-year-old female patient with a health history presented to the Dermatology
service at the Hospital Clínico Quirúrgico 10 de octubre. She reports that about a
year ago, warts began to appear on the upper lip of her mouth and in her nostrils.
She went to two hospitals where they performed electrofulguration of the warts,
but they reappeared. She refers to the fact that her boyfriend has genital warts
for which he is being treated with trichloroacetic acid, but she denies having had
sexual relations. The case is presented because of its interesting nature.
