Abstract

Mycosis fungoides is one type of indolent cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, considered non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, among which this is also the most common. Its clinical manifestations cover a wide spectrum of typical and atypical presentations; while the patch, plaque and tumor stages are classic, associated with intense itching and long evolution. A case is presented of a tumor-stage mycosis fungoides on the anterior thorax, of long evolution, and with multiple treatments due to clinical suspicion of other dermatological pathologies. A conventional biopsy and an immunohistochemical study were performed to determine a histological diagnosis, and subsequently the patient received multidisciplinary treatment in the dermatology and oncology departments, consisting in management with an immunomodulator and radiotherapy. He presented involution of the tumor lesion. It is important to consider this disease in the presence of a tumor lesion, in order to make an early diagnosis and to provide timely treatment.
