Abstract

Introduction: Myiasis is the infestation of the tissues or open cavities of the animal organism (including man) caused by fly larvae. It is dispersal worldwide and it is frequent in America and Africa. Human contagion is almost always accidental and it is produced by contact with infected animals or by direct deposition of eggs on the skin. In Cuba, myiasis is not a frequent infection.

Case report: Two pediatric female patients are reported, in whom scalp myiasis was diagnosed.

Conclusions: The rarity of this disease in our country motivated us to report these cases, hence the importance of thinking about it.
