Introduction: Recently, plasma gel has been incorporated as a filler material for wrinkles, because when gelled, platelet-poor plasma is an ideal protein material to be injected and thus improve this condition, which is increasingly in demand in our dermatological practice.
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of plasma gel in the treatment of patients diagnosed with nasolabial fold wrinkles.
Methods: A longitudinal intervention study was conducted with a sample of 20 patients treated at Fajardo Hospital in 2021. The inherent ethical aspects of any research were complied with and the project was approved by the hospital's Scientific Council.
Results: 65.0% of patients were classified as type III according to Glogau scale. 60.0% had more than 10 mm of wrinkle depth. All patients developed erythema and edema. All of them had an excellent response to treatment.
Conclusions: Treatment with plasma gel for patients with nasolabial fold wrinkles was effective and safe. All patients had an excellent response with adverse events of mild intensity, immediate duration, and erythema, edema, and pain.
